What Do You Put Your Trust In?

Throughout history, people have put their trust in what they can do, what they can provide, or in those around them. Having faith in our deeds and our riches is high on the list, but some have put their trust in governments, or in others.

This has been seen throughout the ages…

“Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the Lord.” Isa. 31:1 NIV
“Since you trust in your deeds and riches, you too will be taken captive, and Chemosh will go into exile, together with his priests and officials.” Jer. 48:7 NIV

But God has been calling us to trust in Him…

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psa. 20:7 NIV

As we look at all of the challenges we face, whether they are physical, financial, political, or other, we need to make sure that our trust is in the Lord.

Lord, it is so much easier to trust when I have money in the bank, or when the people I support are in power, or when I have a good job (or am getting good grades), but help me to put my trust in you in ALL things. In Jesus’ mighty name…
