Do You Know His Voice?

In John 10, we read about who Jesus is, but we also read about the response from His children.

His sheep follow Him because they know Him and know His voice…

“When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.” John 10:4 NI

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me---“  John 10:14 NIV

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” John 10:27 NIV

This implies a couple of things.

This implies that we know His voice. How might we know His voice? By listening to it. How do we do that? We start by being in His Word, because that is the primary place He speaks to us…

But there is more. His sheep both listen to His voice and follow Him. This isn’t just a passive, but an active response. We hear, then we follow.

Do you know His voice? Can You hear Him call your name? And if so, are you following Him?

Lord, help me to seek You. Help me to know Your voice. And then help me to follow You. For Your glory alone… in Jesus’ name.
