Still Not Ready to Repent?

Isn’t it interesting that Jonah, while fleeing from the Lord, asked to be thrown into the sea for the storms to calm instead of repenting to the Lord and saying he’ll do what the Lord has asked him to do?

“The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him, ‘What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?’ ‘Pick me up and throw me into the sea,’ he replied, ‘and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.’” Jonah 1:11-12 NIV

I wonder how often we run in the opposite direction, and are willing to do anything except that which God is calling us to do?

Lord, convict my heart in areas where I refuse to give in to Your will and Your ways. And make my heart willing to follow you in everything. In Jesus’ name…
