The Majesty of God in His Creation

“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” Psalm 90:2 NIV

“You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength, who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations. The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders; where morning dawns, where evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.” Psalm 65:5-8 NIV

Sometimes pictures just don’t do justice to the beauty of Your handiwork, O Lord! I believe that Alaska is one of those places. I have seen the pictures of how beautiful it is. But now, from the balcony of a cruise ship, seeing it in person, I once again stand in awe of Your greatness as seen through Your creation! And I am excited to see what you have in store for us over the next few days.

This brings to mind Psa 103, which speaks of God’s love and mercy, and the greatness of God compared to us…

“The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.”Psalm 103:15-18 NIV

It also makes me think of Romans 1…

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” Romans 1:20 NIV

May I hear from You, and may You still my heart and mind as I rest in You! For You are my God, and there is no other! I look forward to sharing some of the insights You share with me. But may this be a reminder to all of us to make sure that we are setting aside adequate time with You. Help me to continue to learn more about You, and out of that may You be glorified through me! in Jesus’ mighty Name…
