In the beginning of Luke Chapter 8, we see a list of people following Jesus, including a list of women. This was radical for His day (for a Rabbi to teach women), yet Jesus shows that the gospel is for everyone! In other places Jesus calls the little children to Himself.
Paul makes this even more clear when shares how Jesus broke down all barriers, saying in Ephesians 2 that Jesus has
“broken down the wall of hostility that used to separate us… creating in himself one new person from the two groups.”
Eph. 2:14-15, NLT
He also states that
“In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or Gentile circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.”
Col. 3:11, NLT
As a church seeking to reach all people (beyond being multiethnic), we see how scripture points to the importance, and how Jesus Himself desires it.
