Have you thought about what you are saying and doing lately? Would all the people you’ve been around say that you have been loving and kind? That you have been compassionate and giving?
And how is your thought life going?
And how is your thought life going? What do you find yourself thinking about? What do you find yourself thinking about others? Are you thinking about ways to help save the lost, or are you thinking about how someone has been treating you or what they have been saying about you?
After sharing a call to love those who hate and persecute us, Jesus shares this…
“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”
Luke 6:45 NIV
Our world right now seems to be full of anger and hate, but Jesus calls us to love. Not with thoughts and acts done out of necessity because you are looking to earn something, but thoughts and acts that come from a heart full of love.
And this is only possible when we are full of the Holy Spirit. He makes it possible. When we allow Him to, He transforms our heart and makes us new. He fills us with His love, and enables us to be loving in the most challenging situations.
