Ready to give up already?

Here we are a little over a week into the new year, and this is typically when people begin to struggle with their New Year’s resolutions. So, the question is, how about you?

How are you doing with your commitments

If you are struggling, or maybe never got the start you hoped for (at least spiritually), I want you to think about your “why?” Why should you be in God’s word? Why should you spend time with the Lord?

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither---whatever they do prospers.” Psalm 1:1-3 NIV

Isn’t it interesting that we have trouble fitting in 15 minutes to read through the Bible in a year, which is far from “meditating on it day and night.” Fifteen minutes a day is 1% of your day… 1%!

We have so much to gain from spending time with God… and so much to lose when we ignore Him. If you didn’t start, or if you’ve already gotten sidetracked, today is a great day to start (whatever day you are reading this)!

Will you commit to offering God 1% of your day this year?

Lord, there is so much going on in my life, but You call those who spend time with You blessed. Help me to make the commitment to You moving forward, and if I miss a day to just start again. And thank You for always being there for me. Help me to be there to receive what You have for me. In Jesus’ name…
